What we collect

Account email, name, grade band, learning interests, and on-platform activity (passages read, quiz answers, vocabulary attempts, fluency recordings, annotations, feedback). Payment is processed by Stripe — we never store card numbers.

Why we collect it

To personalize practice, track growth, surface coaching, and improve SparkRead. Anonymized engagement metrics inform our roadmap.

Children's privacy (COPPA / FERPA)

For students under 13, accounts must be created or authorized by a parent, guardian, teacher, or school. We treat student records as educational records under FERPA when accounts are provisioned by a school.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, correct inaccuracies, or delete your account by emailing info@sparkread.net.

Third parties

We use Stripe (payments), Anthropic Claude (AI coaching), and OpenAI (text-to-speech). They process data only as needed to deliver their feature and under their own published privacy terms.
